Students from the National Honor Society at Fisher Middle-High School have volunteered to help Twin Tire and Auto Care collect toys for underprivileged children.
Twin Tire and Auto Care is seriously jazzed that students at Fisher Middle-High School have teamed up with us to help make Christmas a bit happier for some underprivileged children. The school’s Bess Harvey Chapter of the National Honor Society, which promotes leadership in academics and community service, has agreed to sponsor a collection spot at Fisher for Toys for Tots. (Fisher is a college preparatory school in Lafitte.)
“I just couldn’t imagine a child facing Christmas morning with no present,” Arceneaux said. “I knew it needed to be one of our community projects as well.”
Honor society president Shane Domangue agreed the cause is good, saying, he is sure that the heart of Fisher will be well represented in the effort.
“I know so many can share just a little and make a big difference,” Shane said.
It works this way: Buy one or more toys and bring it (or them) to the school, 2529 Jean Lafitte Blvd., Lafitte, by Dec. 11. (That’s next Thursday.) No need to wrap it. The honor society will take charge and Twin Tire will come pick up the gifts. (Students who bring in donations will be awarded a ticket for a jeans and Christmas attire day.)
If you can’t get by the school, simply drop the gift(s) off at one of Twin Tire’s locations by Dec. 13 (that’s a week from tomorrow): : 42296 Veterans Ave. in Hammond; 1200 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey; 2195 Barataria Blvd. in Marrero; or at our commercial and heavy truck location, 5712 Jarvis St. in Harahan. Again, don’t worry about wrapping. Toys for Tots will take care of that.
If you drop the toy(s) off at one of the Twin Tire locations, you’ll get a gift in return: $7 off any service or a gift certificate for $7 off future service at from Twin Tire.
Make a child’s Christmas a bit brighter by helping the Fisher Gators and Twin Tire support Toys for Tots.
