If your starter isn't working, you'll be searching for car repair in Metairie-New Orleans.
You got up extra early this morning to go jogging at the Audubon Park before heading off to work, but when you got in your car, it wouldn’t start. You were a bit surprised because you’d recently replaced your battery, so it should have been okay.
The problem might not be with your battery but with your starter. The symptoms of a bad starter are similar to those of a bad battery, says autos.com.
“If you turn the key to start your engine and all you hear is a ‘click,' there is every chance your starter is malfunctioning. It is a very similar sound to a completely dead battery, so check the battery first,” autos.com says. The real culprit could be the solenoid inside the starter. If that has a weak spot, it will prevent “the starter from creating the correct current to start your car. … You should look into getting your start motor replaced at the earliest convenience.”
If you get your car started, bring it to Twin Tire and Auto Care to let our ASE-certified mechanics take a look.
