The summer heat can be hard on your New Orleans car battery.
Summer is officially here and so is the hot weather. One thing’s certain, there’s more hot weather to come. That’s bad news for your car battery.
“When most motorists think of dead batteries that cause starting failure, they think of severe winter weather, but summer heat is the real culprit,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. “Many battery problems start long before the temperatures drop. Heat, more than cold, shortens battery life.”
If your battery dies, you’re not going to be able to drive over to a swimming pool to cool off much less head out on that weekend road trip. But there is a way to avoid this – call Twin Tire and Auto Care if you notice your headlights and interior lights are dim, accessories that fail to operate, or the “check engine” and/or battery light is lit. That way, you might avoid being stranded by a dead battery. But if you do get stranded, Twin Tire is also the place to call for help.
